Hospital Group Set up in Beijing
Beijing's newest medical group includes seven local hospitals. A special board is responsible for managing and assessing the member hospitals.
The two best hospitals engaging in cutting-edge medicine have been designated key institutions. These hospitals will provide technical assistance and training in medical management and services.
Zhu Zonghan, director (Beijing Health Bureau)said: "The establishment of the group will form a medical network including the hospitals and community medical units. The system will give more people better access to quality medical services."
All the members of the group can share their medical resources. The community medical units can transfer emergency or hard-to-treat patients to the key hospitals for further treatment. The patients can also go to the community medical units for recovery.
The Ministry of Health said such a system of hospital groups will also be adopted in other provinces and regions.
