HK Company Wins Authority of Agency of Domain " .cc" in ChinaA Hong Kong company was the only firm that recently won the agency of the domain name, " .cc", in China. It will also provide services of domain information searching, domain name protection, guarantee for secured trade and domain names in various languages.The company, named Secure Site Technology Limited, established a website, aweb.cc, which is specially in charge of registration and promotion of domain names in China's hinterland, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The website mainly uses English, a Chinese version will be published in August. Sources say, there have been about 15 million domain names registered around the world. By the end of 1999, over 9 million domain names ended in ".com", had been registered. Many words and names have been selected. The introduction of " .cc" will bring about new opportunities to the internet domain name market. Hong Kong companies developed Chinese domain name register service early this year.
