Taiwan Visitors Worship Goddess on Mainland

91-Year-Old Man Worships Mazu
Thousands of visitors from Taiwan July 18 held a traditional ceremony to worship the Sea Goddess Mazu, together with their mainland compatriots, in Fujian Province in southeast China.

Mazu is worshipped by people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

The ceremony was held in a temple to the goddess in Meizhou County. It will last for seven days.

This is the second time for Taiwanese people to come to the mainland to worship the goddess since 1987.
