Putin Presents Wreath to People's Heroes Monument

Visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin presented a wreath to the Monument to the People's Heroes in the center of Tian'anmen Square Wednesday in Beijing.

The Russian president was accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Russia Wu Tao and other officials.

Among those present at the wreath-presenting ceremony were Russian Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov, Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, Defense Minister Igor Dmitriyevich Sergeyev and Russian Ambassador to China Igor A. Rogachev.

Putin and his party also visited the Palace Museum and the Beihai Park before leaving Beijing.
