Sichuan to Woo 15 Key Industries
About 15 industries have been listed by the state as project items prioritized to be developed in central and western China when foreign investments are used, according to our correspondent.
The project items to be introduced are those with advantages and potentials in terms of sources, staff, production, technology and market. It is aimed at encouraging utilization of foreign funds, introduction of advanced technology and equipment, as well as upgrading of industrial structure.
Of the said key industries prioritized, "afforestation and introduction of superior species" and "traditional Chinese medicine, development and production of botanical and chemical materials" are listed in the catalogue for the first time.
"Processing of grains, vegetables, fruits, and aquatic products" stresses on "freshness preservation".
In the entry of hi-tech field, newly added items are "software development and Internet products" and "new digital products and accessories production".
Other items are also added, such as "development, construction and operation of tourist facilities", "mining and processing of vitriol and titanium", "comprehensive use of bamboo resources", "development, construction and operation of hydropower stations", and "development of natural gas products".
