Harbin Now Given Easy Access to Sea
Though land locked, yet Harbin has been placed by now within good accessibility to sea for many international transport routes have been opened with Harbin as starting point in linking up the port city of Dalian and Manzhouli with those in the far-eastern region of Russia. These have provided great convenience for shipments of export-oriented enterprises in Harbin.
By now, Harbin city has opened its sea outlet to port city Dalian from where goods can be shipped to every corner of the world. Meanwhile, an international transportation line over the rivers of China, Russia and Japan has been set up through ports in the far eastern region of Russia, which enables goods to be shipped to the Heilongjiang River via the Songhua and further to Japan via Russian ports. In addition, a transportation line across China, Russia, Japan and Korea have also been established through Suifen River and further extended to Seattle. The whole line cuts a transportation time of 10 days for a distance of 1500 km less than a route via Dalian. Besides, a new passage has been opened to Russia and Eastern European countries through Manzhouli port.
