Chinese Teachers' Inventions Exhibited in Beijing

China's first national exhibition on teaching-aid inventions opened Tuesday, with the presence of teachers from primary and middle schools across China.

Nearly 300 items of teaching tools invented or improved by Chinese teachers in recent years will be on display during the three-day show.

The exhibited items cover subjects such as Chinese language and literature, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geography and astronomy.

In the past decade, the Chinese government has begun to shift emphasis from an education based entirely on taking examinations to focusing on other aspects of student performance in schools.

The show, first of its kind in China and supported by the Ministry of Education and China Association for Science and Technology, aims to promote enthusiasm for invention among teachers nationwide.
