Chinese Vice-President Ends Visit to MyanmarChinese Vice-President Hu Jintao left Yangon Tuesday afternoon after ending his three-day official visit to Myanmar,the first leg of his five-nation tour.Hu and his entourage were seen off at the Yangon International Airport by Vice-Chairman of the Myanmar State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) General Maung Aye, SPDC First Secretary Lieutenant-General Khin Nyunt, Second Secretary Lieutenant-General Tin Oo and Third Secretary Lieutenant-General Win Myint as well as Chinese ambassador Liang Dong and embassy staff. During his visit in Myanmar, Hu held talks with Maung Aye and exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional and international issues which both sides were concerned, obtaining an extensive consensus. Besides, Hu also met with Myanmar SPDC Chairman and Prime Minister Senior-General Than Shwe and SPDC first secretary Lieutenant-General Khin Nyunt respectively. The two sides expressed willingness to enhance the "Paukphaw" (fraternal) friendship and to deepen the two countries' cooperation. On the occasion, three accords on bilateral cooperation in the economic, scientific-technological and tourism spheres were signed. Vice-President Hu Jintao, who arrived here on Sunday for the visit at the invitation of Maung Aye, will proceed to Thailand, Indonesia, Byelorussia and Kazhakhstan. |
