China Advocates Civilized Atmosphere to Maintain Order during Soccer Matches

The General Office of the State Council has recently issued a notice requesting the strengthening the management of soccer league matches.

The notice points out that since China set up the nationwide first division soccer league matches system in 1999, more and more people have began paying attention to the soccer matches. The soccer matches have already become a part of many fans' life and a window to the spirit of the city. The development of the soccer league matches is healthy, but a few fans have caused trouble in some areas occasionally. The Chinese Football Association has already meted out punishment in forty-two cases that were found to have disobeyed the "safety and order during matches rules", eight times already in the first half of this year.

To solve this matter, theGeneral Office of the State Council put forward five demands: 1) raise the level of understanding and strengthen the leadership of match organizers, 2) organize rigorously and manage rigidly, 3) insist on guiding the correct public opinion, 4) advocate a civilized atmosphere during matches, and 5) educate and organize the audience.
