Yahoo! Hong Kong Signs Pact With PhoenixNet Ltd

PhoenixNet Limited, a leading satellite broadband enabler based in Hong Kong, announced Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with Yahoo! Hong Kong to deliver a broadband-enabled services via satellite.

Under the agreement, Yahoo! Hong Kong will make use of PhoenixNet's SpeedCast Multimedia platform to help ensure quality delivery of multimedia streaming content to Yahoo! users.

"We are pleased to be working with SpeedCast to further expand our multi-media broadcast distribution network, which will help enable more consumers to view high-quality live video events throughout the region," said Savio Chow, vice president and managing director of Yahoo! Asia.

PhoenixNet will provide Yahoo! Hong Kong collocation services, which will facilitate the distribution of broadcast content to Internet Services Providers through PhoenixNet's satellite network across Asia Pacific.

Yahoo! Hong Kong will provide PhoenixNet with Yahoo! content and services in English and Chinese for its SpeedCast homepage.
