Sino-Russian Strategic Partnership Benefiy Both: Jiang
Facts have proven that the Sino-Russian strategic partnership of cooperation is not only in the fundamental interests of the two countries and the two peoples, but also beneficial to world peace and stability, said President Jiang Zemin Tuesday.
Such a new strategic partnership is non-aligned, non- confrontational, and is not targeted toward any third party, Jiang said in response to a question while meeting the press jointly with President Vladimir Putin following their formal talks.
Jiang said that in recent years, the relationship between China and Russia, two close neighbors and both permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, has seen developing soundly.
With regard to bilateral ties, China and Russia will continue to deepen their relationship and will become "good neighbors, good partners and good friends," Jiang said.
On the international stage, the two countries would continue to devote themselves to the safeguarding of world peace and stability and the establishment of a new political and economic world order, To this end, Jiang noted the two countries would further expand their cooperation in political, economic, military, and all other areas.
