China reported a total industrial output value of 2,136.5 billion yuan for the first half this year, an increase of 9.7 percent from the same period last year, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Tuesday.
The manufacturing sector also accounted for 1,900.5 billion yuan of the total, up 9.9 percent from the same period last year, said NBS spokesman Ye Zhen, adding that the growth rate represents an increase of 0.9 percentage points year-on-year.
Ye noted that the state-owned sector witnessed a growth rate of 9.8 percent, which is 2.2 percentage points higher than a year earlier.
