China's Consumer Price Index (CPI) edged up 0.1 percent in the first half of this year, a sign of improvement following continuous falls in the past two years, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Tuesday.
The disposable income of urban residents averaged 3,208 yuan (US$386.5), a real rise of 7.7 percent from the same period of last year, Ye Zhen, NBS spokesman, said at a press conference.
Rural residents' cash income averaged 1,013 yuan (US$122) during the same period, up 1.8 percent.
