Bashar al-Assad Inaugurated as Syrian President
Bashar al-Assad was inaugurated as Syrian president in the Syrian parliament on Monday.
Bashar was elected on July 11 as president of
Syria
with an overwhelming majority of votes in a nationwide referendum.
Bashar's father Hafez al-Assad died of a heart attack on June 10 after ruling the country for the last three decades.
