A two-volume collection the laws and legal documents in effect in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) was published recently.
With a total of more than 3,300 pages, the collection includes all the laws and administrative decrees effective in Macao up to May this year. It is the first large-scale collection of law since the Macao SAR was founded in last December.
The laws and decrees are divided into three categories: the Macao Basic Law and some national laws applicable in the Macao SAR, the legal documents coming from the Portuguese rule, and those passed by the Legislative Council of the Macao SAR.
The collection was compiled by scholars with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and its publication was sponsored by the Macao Foundation.
