Vice-President Embarks on Five-Nation Tour
Chinese Vice-President Hu Jintao left Saturday for an official visit to Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.

Hu is paying the visit at the invitation of Vice-Chairman General Maung Aye of the State Peace and Development Council of Myanmar, the government of Thailand, Vice-President Megawati Soekarno Putri of Indonesia, President Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko of Belarus, and President Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan.

Hu's entourage includes his wife Liu Yongqing, Deputy Foreign Minister Wang Guangya, Deputy Director Ling Jihua of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and other senior government officials.
