Chinese PLA Navy Ship Group Concludes Visit to Malaysia
The Chinese navy ship group Friday left Malaysia's Klang Port upon completing a successful four-day goodwill visit.
The group consisting one missile destroyer and one support ship is heading for the Dares Salaam port of Tanzania for visit.
During the visit, Rear Admiral Huang Jiang, chief of staff of the South Sea Fleet and the group commander as well as the commanding officers of the two ships called on senior Malaysian navy officials including the navy chief and visited the defense college and the staff college of the Malaysian defense forces.
This was the second visit of the Chinese navy ship group to Malaysia. The first group consisting of two other ships visited Malaysia's Lumut in 1997. Malaysia's navy vessels also visited Guangzhou, China in 1999.
