Haier Sets Up 7th International Industrial Park

Haier, a major electric appliances manufacturer in China, has just started construction of a new international industrial park in Jiaozhou near Qingdao, an important port city in east China's Shandong province.

This is the company's seventh international industrial park set up in China and abroad, Haier sources said Thursday.

The new park occupies an area of 50 hectares, and its first phase will be completed by the end of this year.

Haier intends to invite qualified parts and components suppliers in the world to set up operations in the park, and their products will be used on Haier's appliances. When the park goes into operation, it is expected to generate 1.5 billion yuan (180 million US dollars) in annual sales revenue.
