Homemade PCs Favored by Over 50 % Chinese UsersA recent survey conducted by China Consumers' Association shows that homemade PCs are more favored by Chinese users than those foreign.Of the five top brand name PCs as listed in the survey conducted in the four centrally administered municipalities as Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Chongqing, three are homemade name brands favored by domestic users. Legend, Founder, Toptry and Star have been made the first choices of perspective users. When inquired about "What will you consider most important if you want to buy a PC", 74.6% said quality comes first, 52.7 % think service is more important. Sources say if PC manufacturers want to seek a good market share, expanded sale or a greater marketing rate of their PCs they must pool in more efforts in products quality and services. PCs are known to have many a varied functions. But some consumers lack necessary knowledge about PCs and some even have no idea how to use it. There is a 60 % of users surveyed use PC to play games. This calls therefore for a spread of the knowledge on the functions and use of PCs by the sellers to their customers. When asked about "Where would you like to buy your PC", 42.3 % consumers answered they will go to PC marketing centers, thereby showing the general recognition of PC consumers for their brands, variety, full market supply of accessories and reasonable prices set in PCs markets. However, a crackdown on and fight against phony shoddy PCs and the work relating to protecting the consumers' rights should by no means be neglected. The survey also tells that 40.6 % of families in the 4 municipalities enumerated have got PCs of their own and of these, PC users have come to make as much high as 78.1 % of the total. Insiders say that a speedily increased number of families and people have come to use PCs in China. PC manufacturers should seize on this golden chance to develop and put out new PC varieties to meet the demand of different PC users in China. |
