Yuan He, China's 1st Doctorate of Dancing
Yuan He, an associate professor with the Beijing Institute of Dancing, was granted the academic title of doctorate on the art of dancing by the Chinese Academy of Arts Wednesday.
Together with Yuan, 10 more students got the academic title of doctorate or master of arts on music, painting, opera and film. The academy, a subordinate to the Ministry of Culture, was set up in 1979 and has since brought up over 200 doctors and masters. They all have become backbones in various artistic troupes or departments.
