DNA Chips Put into Mass Production
The United Gene Science & Technology Group announced yesterday that it has started to mass-produce DNA chips, being the first in China to do so.
The company said it will produce 2 million chips by the end of this year and will produce more than 10 million in next year.
Established in March 1998 with the support of Fudan University, the company has injected RMB500 million in gene chip research and to date has obtained the patent right for 2100 genes.
The company's products can be used to aid scientific study, clinical diagnosis and commodity examination.
