International Seminar on Scientific Co-op to Be Held in Xinjiang

The Altay international seminar on scientific and technological cooperation will be held July 19-21 in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The seminar will be jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

It aims at promoting scientific and technological cooperation among countries around the Altay area, namely, China, Russia, Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

Altay is a multi-ethnic area in northern Xinjiang. Endowed with plentiful water and vast grassland, the area has been served as a leading fishery and animal husbandry base in Xinjiang. It is also rich in gold and other precious stone mines.
