People's Daily Online Voted Excellent Cultural Website
A cultural website survey and evaluation sponsored by the Ministry of Culture published its results in Beijing Wednesday; 15 websites were rewarded.
Under the theme "Carrying Forward Chinese Culture on Internet", the activity consists of three parts: survey on current situation and development of cultural websites, vote of excellent ones and article contributions on "Culture Spread on Internet: My view". This is the first survey on feature websites conducted by the government. The goal is to guarantee construction quality of Chinese websites and promote sound development of Internet in China.
Started at the end of last year, the activity went through procedures as online application, online monitoring, netizen discussion, resident survey and experts' examination and appraisal. After comprehensive and careful work, 15 were selected out of 768 Chinese cultural networks featuring social culture, books, arts, culture news, cultural relics and comprehensive ones. Besides, 14 people were awarded for their articles.
People's Daily Online was granted the title of "Excellent Cultural Website of China".
