Sino-Vietnamese Friendship Hailed

A senior official of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China said Tuesday Chinese and Vietnamese governments as well as the two parties should further strengthen their long-term, stable and good-neighborly friendship in the face of a more complicated world.

"The world today is changing in a constant and complicated manner. It is necessary for the Communist parties and governments of the two countries to strengthen their unity and cooperation," said Wei Jianxing, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Wei made these remarks in a meeting with Le Minh Huong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV)and Minister of Police.

The Chinese and Vietnamese peoples cherish their long-term and traditional friendship which has gained new vigor as they supported each other in the revolutionary struggles and in socialist constructions, Wei said.

Over the past few years, China and Viet Nam have witnessed a fast development of both party and state relations. The friendly cooperation has also been expanded, he added. Wei is also member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Le Minh Huong, a guest of the Chinese Ministry of State Security, conveyed greetings from Le Kha Phieu, general secretary of the CPV Central Committee, to Chinese leaders.

Le Minh Huong spoke highly of the development of Vietnam-China relations and the achievements China has scored over the past years.

He also expressed confidence in the friendly cooperation between security departments of the two countries, which, he said, will help safeguard the security and interests of Vietnam and China as well as promote the development of bilateral relations.
