Beijing to Hold Child Safety, Self-defense Exhibition
A Sino-British exhibition focusing on child safety and self-defense will be held in Beijing from July 15 to 23, aiming at increasing public awareness of children's rights and helping them to protect themselves.
The event, organized by the British Council and China's People' s University of Public Security, is also aimed at preventing children from becoming involved in crime. It centers on the law and legal rights concerning children, and draws from both British and Chinese experience.
The exhibition includes more than just displays, with video and computer activities, performances by British and Chinese actors, games, and self-defense classes, the organizers said at a press conference on July 11.
In conjunction with the event, a series of professional seminars will also be held, with experts from both countries discussing issues of juvenile delinquency, child protection and treatment of young people in the legal system.
