China Level ABA Finals at 1-1

The Chinese All-Stars team levelled the Asian Basketball Association (ABA) League finals at 1-1 after beating the NBA Ambassadors 111-103 in the second match on Tuesday.

The Chinese All-Stars led all the way to force the series into the third and decisive match scheduled in Beijing on Thursday.

The Chinese team again enjoyed a flying start, leading 8-2, 10- 4 early in the match. They played more aggressively in both defence and offence and out-rebounded their American counterparts.

The Chinese team once enlarged their advantage to 20 points but as their star center Yao Ming fouled out early in the fourth quarter, the NBA Ambassadors team staged a late comeback and narrowed the gap to 3 points with 2 minutes remaining.

But the NBA Ambassadors team had a foul problem as they were called four technical fouls and two of their starters fouled out.

It was the fifth encounter between the two teams and the Chinese All-Stars led 3-2. Both teams entered the final with a 18- 2 regular season record.
