Digital Art and Cultural Industry College to be Founded in Shanghai Jiaotong University
Shanghai Jiaotong University is going to set up the country's first digital art and cultural industry college.
A letter of intent was signed last week between the university and China Digital Art and Network Ltd, a company incorporated in Hong Kong. According to the document, the company will invest 10 million yuan in the college in the first phase. The university will provide the land, teaching staff and library for the college.
Ye Quyuan, vice-president of the university, said the college will train China's first batch of digital art professionals. He stressed these professionals will also be good at the manufacturing, production, research, management and financing aspects of the digital art business.
Steve Fredericks, president of Digital Domain Company of the US, said great potential exists in digital technology in China.
