Qinghai Poverty Alleviation Program Completely in Line with WB's Regulations: Spokesman

As we all know, Qinghai poverty alleviation program has its aim to help local people shake off poverty and promote economic and social development of the region. It completely conforms to World Bank regulations, much to the welcome of local people in China, said a spokesman from the Ministry of Finance Monday.

However, motivated by political reasons, some shareholders from developed countries impose unacceptable conditions for World Bank's relevant suggesting reports and put forward unreasonable demands in an attempt to obstruct the implementation of the program. This is a flagrant violation of World Bank regulations, which reveals their true color of trampling upon human rights under the cloak of "Human rights protection". China is strongly opposed to any politicizing of World Bank business, refusing to accept any conditions attached to the suggesting reports by World Bank authorities.

In order to safeguard the principles of World Bank and protect the rights and interests of developed countries that should go on loans from the World Bank, the Chinese government has decided to implement the program by itself and with funds of its own. Any scheme to stop the program is doomed to fail. The Chinese government will never waver in its determination to accelerate the work of poverty fighting.
