Iranian Delegation Comparing Notes on Poverty Fighting in China
With UNDP Support, an Iranian delegation formed of high-ranking officials from poverty alleviation and public security departments lately came on a visit to China to learn the methods and experience in carrying out poverty fighting program, which was led by a consultant of Iranian President.
During their 8-day tour, the Iranian delegation visited the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Poverty-Alleviation Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Finance and other authoritative departments. They learned from Chinese officials the current situation and methods, and also visited poverty fighting and reemployment undertakings in Tianjin and Hebei area.
The delegation spoke highly of the achievements gained by China for its aid-the-poor program, showing great interest in undertakings and the effort to map out China's poverty alleviation and social development. This time they collected information about public security and have learned a lot, they said satisfactorily.
