Duck "Troops" Rout Locusts in Xinjiang
Duck "Troops" Routs Locusts in Xinjiang
Herdsmen in China's Xinjiang Uygur Region are using trained ducks to battle crop-eating locusts.
The locust eating fowl are being credited for killing a substantial number of the insects that are threatening farmland.
Xinjiang and some other parts of China are witnessing one of the worst locust plagues ever, with 2.6 million hectares of farmland already destroyed by the insects.
The photo depicts duck "troops" from Mount Tianshan Grassland were capturing and eating locusts.
