Zhoushan Fish Farm Returns 1 Million Yellow Croaker Fry to Sea
In order to protect the endangered large yellow croakers, the Zhoushan Fish Farm of east China's Zhejiang Province recently returned 1 million fry of this kind of fish to the sea.
The large yellow croaker is a kind of long-reputed precious aquatic product of said fish farm. In recent years, due to excessive catching and pollution, the inshore fishery resources have seen a deteriorating recession and large yellow croakers are even near extinction.
It's reported that this is another attempt of Zhejiang Province to make up the marine fishery resources on a large scale following the return of prawns, groupers, black porgies and other aquatic products to the ocean in the past few years.
