38 More Bodies of Liuzhou Bus Plunge Found

Thirty-eight more bodies of a Friday bus plunge in Liuzhou, an industrial city in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, were found Sunday afternoon, raising the death toll of the accident to 78.

Local sources said that 55 bodies have been identified and claimed by victims' families.

Rescue efforts for searching accident victims are still going on along the Liujiang River at press time.

The accident occurred at 22:00 Friday when the bus veered off a bridge and plunged 30 meters into Liujiang River.

The bus fell into the river after it turned sharply left in the central part of the Hudong bridge and slammed more than 10 meters of the bridge shield, according to witnesses.
