HK Awards Youth for Public Policy Recommendations

A number of young people from secondary schools and colleges received Hong Kong Public Policy Innovation Award Saturday for their study and recommendations in the public policy field.

The competition, jointly organized by the Hong Kong Policy Research Institute and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, is divided into the Secondary School Section and the Young Adult Section, with four different themes, namely, technology policy, environmental policy and culture and arts policy.

In the past ten months after the competition was opened, the expert team had received 101 applications in total, 38 in the secondary school section and 63 in the young adult section.

Five teams in each section were selected to enter the final adjudication, and three teams to receive an outstanding award. The first prize was awarded to environmental policy project both in the secondary school section and the young adult section.

The participants have shown significant improvement in their work and also in their skills in presenting their projects and many of the recommendations have innovative ideas, organizers of the competition said.
