New Measures for SOE Reform
The State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision recently held a conference to discuss new measures to speed up reforms in State-Owned Enterprises (SOE).
The bureau requested all relevant departments to step up efforts to provide consulting services, technical support and staff training for SOEs, especially mid- and small-sized SOEs. They should help local enterprises compete in the market by promptly provide enterprises with information on product quality, trends in the domestic market and the conditions to enter overseas market. These government departments should also actively provide legal consultation on quality and technical supervision, accept enterprises' authorization to solve disputes on their behalf, accept appeals on product quality and conduct arbitration and inspections of products in question.
