Chinese President Concludes Central Asia Tour

Chinese President Jiang Zemin concluded his state visit to Turkmenistan and left Turkmenistan Friday morning.

Turkmenistan President Saparmurad Niyazov hosted a ceremony to see Jiang and his party off at the airport.

Boarding the plane with Jiang back to China included Chinese Vice Premier Qian Qichen, Minister in charge of State Development Planning Commission Zeng Peiyan, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng and other senior officials.

During the past five days, Jiang paid a state visit to Tajikistan and attended the fifth "Shanghai Five" summit.

The "Shanghai Five" nations are China, Tajikistan, Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
