CSCO Opens Far East-U.S. West Coast Service

The China Shipping Corporation (CSCO), one of the country's shipping giants, has developed a new shipping route connecting Far East with the west coast of the U.S., according to China Shipping Weekly.

Six 2000-TEU vessels will operate on the weekly passage, which includes ports of Lianyungang, Qingdao, and Shanghai in China; Hakata and Yokohama in Japan; and Los Angeles and Oakland in the U. S. state of California.

At a speed of 19 knots per hour, it takes 18 days to sail from Lianyungang to the United States and 16 days from Qingdao to the U. S.

To date, CSCO has launched three Far East-U.S. west coast routes and one from the Far East- U.S. east coast, with seven domestic ports involved.
