AIA Expands Insurance Business in China

With the approval of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission, the American International Assurance co. Ltd (AIA), started to offer bonus-bearing insurance service in Guangzhou, one of China's major southern gate to the outside world, as of Wednesday.

By now, the American insurance company has offered 11 kinds of insurance services in China.

AIA entered China's market in 1992 and has since set up branches in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, employing a total staff of more than 15,000.

Huang Baoheng, general manager of the AIA Guangzhou Branch, is confident that the new insurance service will be well received as more and more residents of Guangzhou, also capital of Guangdong Province, have been fully aware of the new type of assurance which also serves as a kind of investment.
