Xinjiang Holds 2000 Golden Sandbeach Tourism Festival
"Oriental Hawaii" in Xinjiang

The month-long "Xinjiang Golden Sandbeach Tourism Festival" was held in the Golden Sandbeach of Heshuo, Xinjiang's "Hawaii", in early July which echoes the 2000 China Tourist Trade Fair scheduled to be opened in mid-July in Urumqi.
Some 300 kilometers away from Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the Golden Sandbeach bathing place in the region's Heshuo County is a newly opened summer tourism resort. It is situated on the northeast bank of Bosteng Lake, the biggest inland fresh water lake of China. It is so named because of its golden fine sand. With clear lake water and groups of gulls, it is also called Xinjiang's "Hawaii".
