Most College Graduates Find Jobs in Shanghai

Nearly 79% of newly graduated college students have found jobs by the end of June, according to sources with Shanghai College Students Employment Instruction Center.

The employment rate of master-degree students is 95%, compared with 85% of bachelor-degree students. Only 59% of students who graduated from junior colleges have found jobs, indicating that the higher the education level, the more popular a student is on the job market.

The number of students who intend to continue school education or go abroad to study has increased sharply.

More students signed job contracts with private companies this year, up 8% from last year.

Encouraged by the successful stories of Bill Gates, a number of talented students at such famous universities as Fudan and Jiaotong have decided to start their own businesses. So far 30 of them have found suitable projects and investors and some of the projects have already been put into operation.
