More Smuggled Goods Seized in Guangdong

The Gongbei Customs in south China's Guangdong Province have seized smuggled goods worth 63.2 million yuan (7.5 million U.S. dollars) in the first half of this year, sources said.

Some 214 cases have been investigated by customs officers in the coastal city of Zhuhai, which is adjacent to Macao.

The recent big cases include the smuggling of 2.5-million-yuan-worth cars in eight containers on June 27, and the shipping of some high-tech products.

China has intensified anti-smuggling campaign this year.

Smuggling is usually rampant in Guangdong and other southern coastal regions.
