In the first six months of this year, CPC organizational units have recruited over 5,300 college students, hence a further increase of CPC student membership in universities in Beijing.

In recent years, organizational units at all levels of the Communist Youth League of China in universities in Beijing have strengthened the work of fostering students eager to join the CPC and this was as represented by a new CPC membership of about 10 thousand students being recruited a year. Statistics show that a CPC student membership of 26,000, or 9.93% of the whole student body in universities in Beijing has been enrolled. Of postgraduates, CPC members make up 29%; of undergraduates, CPC members take 7.3%. Found with these are also a large number of students drawing close to CPC organizational units on the campuses. Taking Peking University for example, about one third of students have applied for CPC membership.

In view of this situation, CPC organizational units in universities are exploring a new way for Party member administration and education. An election entitled "Our Belief" for excellent Party organizational activities has been conducted in Party branches of more than 300 universities in Beijing and has attracted over 6,000 CPC student members.
