Chinese Judges to Change Military-style UniformJudges in this national capital will shed their military-style uniforms, characterized by epaulets and caps, and wear judicial robes or western suits with badges starting July 1.According to dress-code regulations, the robes are exclusively for judges at the intermediate people's court and courts of higher levels. The change in uniforms began on a trial basis early this year at the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court. The traditional-style uniforms have been worn by judges since 1984. |
