Huge Buddhist Collection Published

The imperial edition of a huge Buddhist collection has been published by a Beijing publishing house.

The Yongle North Collection, widely regarded as the most important sutra publication produced by the imperial court of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), is now available to everyone, the " Wenhui Daily" reported.

The 200-volume collection has a nationwide circulation of 100 sets, the Shanghai-based newspaper said.

As an imperial treasure in the Ming court, the block-print North Collection was carefully preserved by court officials and rarely seen by the common people.

The Palace Museum has a copy of the precious collection.
