DPRK-U.S. to Restart Missile TalksThe U.S.-DPRK missile talks will resume from July 10 to 12 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. These are the first talks since the fourth round of talks broke down last March. The United States will ask DPRK to end their missile program and halt its missile exports.On June 28, U.S. State Department officials announced that the meetings will resume. Robert Einhorn, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Non-Profileration, and Jang Chang-chon, Director General for U.S. Affairs in DPRK's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will represent the two countries at the meetings next month. DPRK is currently fulfilling the promise made to the United States during the high level talks held in Berlin last September not to launch anymore missiles. As a reward, the United States has eased some of the economic sactions on DPRK. |
