Symposium Held to Improve Education of Chinese Characters

A symposium was held in Beijing recently to improve the education of Chinese characters among children.

More than 300 experts and scholars from China, Australia, the United States, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar and other countries and regions attended the symposium, which was sponsored by the Better Birth and Health Care Association of China.

The symposium, the first of its kind internationally, has received 695 papers, 182 of which were awarded as outstanding papers. It has also compiled 2,000 games for children to learn and to read Chinese characters.

Experts said that the papers and games have reflected the research level of the scientific education in Chinese characters among children both in China and overseas.
