COSCO Opens New Express Shipping Route to Japan
China Ocean Shipping Corporation, one of the country's biggest shipping giants, recently opened another express route from Qingdao, a port in east China's Shandong province, to Japan.
COSCO opened the first lane in 1999, in a bid to send China's fresh vegetable and meat for Japan's daily consumption.
The shipping corporation uses two 17-sea-mile-per-hour container vessels on the weekly route, involving ports of Yantai, Qingdao, Tokyo and Yokohama.
