Recovered National Treasure Put on Show in Beijing

An antique show opened in the Capital Museum in Beijing on Saturday featuring a national treasure that was looted by the British and French troops in 1860 and recovered at an auction fair overseas.

The national treasure, a Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) hexagonal porcelain vase, was purchased by the Beijing Cultural Relics Company for 20.95 million Hong Kong dollars at an auction fair in Hong Kong in early May.

There are also another 30 precious Chinese antiques the company recovered from overseas in recent years.

The Beijing Cultural Relics Company, a government authorized cultural relics collector and dealer, has helped recovered nearly one million antiques during the past 40 years.
