Microsoft Witnesses Increasing Business in China

Microsoft China enjoyed a 83 percent of growth rate in its overall business volume in the 2000 fiscal year, according to latest report in Beijing from the company.

In the year, most of the major products series are welcomed by the Chinese market, said the report. The sales of Windows Server increased by 98 percent over the previous year.

The 2000 fiscal year also witnessed a big step forward for the company to serve the enterprise customers and industrial application.

A high ranking official from the company said that the operation of the company is satisfying, but added that considering business volume, Microsoft China is still one of the smallest in its 65 subsidiaries all through the world.

The official predicted that the by the year 2001, China will become the third largest PC market in the world and the number of its Internet users will increase to 20 million.
