Textiles Industry in E. China Province Booming
Textile industry in east China's Jiangsu Province is booming.
Over the past two years, the province has destroyed outdated spindles and made structural changes in production.
As market demands on textiles picked up, textiles production in the province has entered a booming period.
In the first five months of the year, yarn, cloth and wool have all increased.
Textile industry sales during January and May hit 43.77 billion yuan (about US$ 5.27 billion), rising 22.2 percent over the same period last year, and witnessing a net profit of 951 million yuan, a year-on-year rise of 172.6 percent.
The production of garments reported an increase of 17.8 percent.
Garments made in the province have been exported to Europe, the United States and other Asian countries.
