China, First Destination of Peru's Exports to Asia
China is the first destination of Peru's exports to Asia, with an amount above US$ 116 million between January and April, year 2000, Peru's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
In a report of the Ministry's Office of Economic Promotion, the figure of this country's exports to the Asian country is highlighted. It mainly comes from the sale of Peruvian fish flour.
Meanwhile, Chinese imports in the same period came to US$ 79.838 million, with a surplus for Peru of about US$ 37 million.
China became between 1995 and 1999 the main buyer of Peruvian products, as exports directed to the Asian country reached US$ 1.106 billion.
